I’m so sorry you went through this and it’s hard interesting the language we use to get through it. It’s also interesting that NFS wasn’t a crime when I experienced it!
It’s terrible that you experienced this as well, I’m so sorry! As we’ve talked on other posts, being able to put words to it helps for getting it processed. I spent all day thinking and writing and researching and thinking and researching and writing…… you know how it goes. 😜
But at the end of the night, I felt a weight off my mind because I had figured out how to unload it, move it in my brain - make it unstuck.
Even if it is a crime where it happens to take place because each state is different….proving it happened is a huge hurdle for a criminal prosecutor to be able to “prove beyond reasonable doubt” to a jury.
This continues to be dangerous territory in balancing constitutional rights against specific victim rights particularly if there’s no witness to the event.
My ex was arrested and charged with 5 felonies. All were dropped because no one saw the specific actions related to those specific charges. Yet I was clearly battered with pattern evidence.

Yes that’s the loop I end up on for different parts of domestic violence. I certainly find writing about it helps me get my thoughts in order!
